CLC was founded by Chance Kornuth as the first live tournament coaching for profit program in poker. An innovative approach to poker coaching where instead of asking for an hourly payment up-front, a small percentage was taken from player winnings.

The coaching for profit program ran for 4 years and 120 players made over $12,000,000 winning multiple tournaments. One of those people was GPI 1st player in the world and now CLC coach Alex Foxen.

We took the lessons we learned from the coaching for profit format and translated it into a world class live tournament curriculum and our two flagship products, The Closer and CL AI.

Chance Kornuth is the Founder and Lead-Instructor of Chip Leader Coaching. Over the course of his career he has won three World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, one World Poker Tour (WPT) championship, and amassed over $15.6M in lifetime earnings (August 2023). He was just 24 years old when he won his first WSOP bracelet in 2010, taking down the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event for $508,090.

In 2016, Alex met Chance Kornuth and became one of the first students of Chip Leader Coaching. Foxen’s competitive drive and hard work with CLC paid off in short order! Just one year later, Foxen would go on to win the SHRPO $2,650 buy-in event for $204,600. While this was the biggest score of his career to date, he would soon top it that year by finishing second at the Bellagio’s WPT Five Diamond Classic Main event for $1,134,202.
